ABOUT MILLY

A specialist voice coach for 20 years, Milly has worked alongside some of Britain's finest actors, including Sir John Gielgud, Sir Michael Gambon and Dame Helen Mirren. Since 2004 she has been coaching business leaders and managers in the UK, Europe and the Far East through her company Be Heard. She has also collaborated on projects with John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe, Nicholas Cage, Miranda Richardson, the Royal Ballet and Sadler’s Wells as well as directing several documentaries for C4 and the BBC.

“According to most studies, people's number one fear is public speaking. Number two is death. This means to the average person, if you go to a funeral, you're better off in the casket than doing the eulogy.”

Do you hate public speaking? If so, you’re in good company. Gandhi and Abraham Lincoln both suffered from stage fright, and Judi Dench, Andrea Bocelli, Stephen Fry and Rihanna still do. These global figures have not succeeded by magically waking up one day without fear. They use techniques to combat it. Techniques you can learn too. And by changing the mindset behind the blocks that cause this fear, you can change your life - not just at work, but in every aspect. Click here for more info:

Communication is central to our working and wider lives; it determines our effectiveness as individuals and the success of the organisation, group or other community and constituency with which we engage. From getting our children to school in the morning to motivating our workforce, addressing shareholders or standing for parliament, we use – or fail to use - broadly the same principles. It’s these principles, honed and practised, which are the basis of Be Heard.

Using a combination of breathing techniques, vocal methods and text evolved over many years, founder Milly Ellis has developed a deeply powerful way to help people deliver their message, whether in the personal or corporate arena or further afield, both effectively and memorably.

We will demonstrate how by breathing correctly, standing correctly and pacing yourself, having the courage to own your truth and then projecting it, will change your life for the better.  We can absolutely train ourselves to have that energy.  As we stand at the gateway to a new world, during these challenging times, what better moment, is there than abandoning stale old mindsets about what you can or cannot do and work on adopting new ones that will better fit you to step out with purpose and confidence into the brave new world after Covid 19?

As an effective public speaker you will be able to:

• Deliver your message in a clear, convincing – and engaging - manner

• Bring your message to a wider audience

• Enhance your leadership skills

• Convey just the right sentiments at a funeral or wedding (– and never wish again you were the one in the coffin)

• Get the job, or the role in the company, play or film, that could change your life
