Walking with Chris and Olive

Kent beach hut dweller and walker Chris Kingsman (accompanied by his spaniel Olive) take long, slow walks, and Chris describes what he is seeing, from the sky larks and starling murmurations to the sleek grey seals sunbathing on the Seasalter mudflats.

I’m an Italian and I grew up in Naples, where my family owned a renowned pasticceria (cake shop). As a child I would race back from school to watch the pastry chefs making and decorating the cakes, which I would then try to recreate at home.

I will be offering Italian inspired cookery sessions & classes for adults & kids.

I am a trained carpenter and landscaper, and I recently moved with my cocker spaniel Olive into a shack on Seasalter beach near Whitstable on the Kent Coast.

I’m currently looking after my neighbour’s vegetable plot (while she is locked down in London), each week I will be sending a ‘vegetable patch report’: what’s surviving & what’s thriving!

I will also be documenting and narrating my coastal meanders with Olive to immerse the listener in our surroundings, describing all that can be seen, heard and even smelt!
